Over ten years ago, Memjet® technology transformed the printing industry when it released its first inkjet technology. Today, Memjet is excited to announce the release of an additional inkjet technology platform called DuraLink.
The DuraLink™ Platform combines long-life printheads, pigment ink and flexible modules to give OEM partners a fast, easy way to develop solutions for high-volume commercial, packaging and industrial printing markets.
Eric Owen, general manager of commercial printing at Memjet, says, “Memjet set out to develop an additional inkjet technology that would bring quality, speed and affordability to high-volume markets. To be successful, this technology also needed to keep pace with the rapid rate of change happening in the industry. The result of this effort is DuraLink. By bringing together a long-life printhead, durable pigment ink, 100 inches (2.5 meter) maximum print width and a range of versatile modules, DuraLink enables the rapid, cost-effective development of next-generation solutions for commercial, packaging and industrial printing markets.”
Early feedback about DuraLink from Industry analysts has been positive. In a just published article, Cary Sherburne and David Zwang of WhatTheyThink wrote about DuraLink and the potential it brings to the market. The note:
“We believe this new introduction opens a lot of new market potential for both new and existing Memjet OEMs. Now that Memjet has addressed head life and stability, developed a pigment ink, maintained its high print speed and improved quality, the company has torn down a lot of the barriers that have prevented wider adoption of the technology. Tying the new package together with the new modular design provides the flexibility needed for OEMs to design and produce new production inkjet solutions that support the increasing need for mass customization.”
