Thankful

By: Len Lauer, Chairman & CEO, Memjet

Thanksgiving week is underway and I want to congratulate our Memjet team on a successful year.

Thanks to the hard work and dedication across a variety of teams, Memjet released its second-generation print platform called DuraLink. With its long-life printheads, pigment ink, and flexible modules, we believe DuraLink will make inkjet a reality for high-volume commercial, packaging, and industrial printing markets.

DuraLink was announced at PRINT 17 this September. We were pleased with the positive response the unveiling received from the press, analysts, and potential OEMs. Our teams have continued DuraLink conversations throughout the remainder of 2017, and we anticipate exciting new partnership announcements in 2018.

I am grateful Memjet’s original printing technology, VersaPass, continues to open new opportunities in the markets it serves. Dozens of OEM partners now use this aqueous, dye-based, single-pass digital print system to power on-demand printing in a variety of markets, including desktop labeling, mailing and addressing, wide format, packaging, and commercial press. This work would not have been possible without the committed team that develops, distributes, and supports Memjet’s VersaPass technology.

Lastly, I am grateful to all the OEM partners who choose Memjet technology to power the innovative solutions across the world.

Although Memjet has achieved many successes in 2017, we believe 2018 will be even more exhilarating. As Simon Eccles recently wrote about DuraLink in PrintWeek UK:

“In summary . . . inkjets struggle to break into wider commercial markets due to their cost/substrate issues. Watch out for Memjet though—its DuraLink head may break the cycle.”

On behalf of all of us at Memjet, I wish you a Happy Thanksgiving.
