You will play a key role within our organization.  In order to ensure achievement of performance expectations for role and position, you will be working closely and collaborating with all members of Memjet’s marketing staff as well as cross functional and global Memjet community.

The Mission

We are seeking a dynamic Corporate Videographer and Video Producer / Editor to join our team in San Diego.  This position will report to the Director of Global Marketing Communications.


  • Operate and manage studio production equipment, including cameras, sound equipment and lighting.
  • Develop new and creative ways to streamline and optimize video production processes.
  • In-house Video Production
    • Pre-production
      • Working with the marketing and technical/engineering teams to draft a creative brief in support of company or brand related videos, technology videos, thought leadership videos and case study videos.
      • Working with sales staff to establish the goal of the videos / case studies.
      • Conducting discovery calls with the interviewee in pursuit of set video goal.
      • Vetting and hiring video production crew as needed to support efforts.
      • Coordinating a location scout with the OEM/end user and the video crew.
        • Make sure location is visually pleasing.
      • Budgeting
        • Receiving quotes and processing reviews/approvals from management.
        • Creating and submitting purchase orders.
        • Receiving and processing invoices / receipts.
      • Scheduling necessary pre-production calls & logistics of the production day.
        • Ensure presses run and print samples are ready on the day of the shoot.
      • Creating a shotlist that will ensure we capture the necessary b-roll against goals.
      • Ensuring all protective legal contracts & releases are signed and in place.
      • Booking travel & hotels as needed or requested by management.
  • Production
    • Get the most out of the interview in pursuit of the set video / case study goal.
      • Establishing a level of comfort for the on-camera interviewee.
      • Directing to make sure they look and sound the best they can.
      • Establish the best location for the interview, taking lighting, noise level, and visual background into consideration.
      • Operate a two camera setup.
      • Record separate audio using a lavalier microphone.
      • Lighting the thought leader accordingly using LED panel lights.
      • Ensure that good content is delivered in their answers.
    • Working with the production crew.
      • Ensuring they know the logistics of the day.
      • Giving them direction on the specifics shots we need to capture.
    • Ensuring that all parties involved get the footage they want.
  • Post-production
    • Organizing, naming, and backing up audio & video files on multiple hard drives.
    • Creating proxies for 4K footage so editing can be done in real time.
    • Syncing separate audio clips with the footage and overlaying copy.
    • Transcribing the interviews using automated tools such as Trint.com.
      • Pulling the first round of selects before sending to team and management for reviews and approvals.
    • Creating a video cut for content.
    • Once content cut is in review, start placing b-roll over footage where needed.
    • Placing titles and graphics as the video case study is nearing completion and approval.
    • Animating and creating more sophisticated motion graphics and titles to overlay on the videos.
    • Exporting final various cuts specifically catered to the Memjet brand, OEM/end user, and any other parties involved.
  • Content Creation & Design in Photography
  • Photographing print and label samples as well as events using in-house camera and product photography light box.
  • Retouching photos that are posted on our blog or social media.
  • Designing print samples and digital graphics (call outs, graphs, charts, etc.) using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Canva.


  • Expertise in:
    • Adobe After Effects, Premiere and Photoshop
    • Davinci Resolve
    • Able to utilize templates and stock video (i.e. Envato)
    • Illustrator, InDesign

Desired Attributes:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 1+ years of videography production & editing experience
  • Strategic and analytical in approach
  • Working knowledge and experience with Office as well as project management, spreadsheet, SharePoint and word processing software for MAC and PCs.
  • Strong ability to think critically are also required.
  • Organizational skills are a must! With the ability to prioritize project
  • Ability to work independently with only general supervision.
  • Must be a team player.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, self-starter and very task oriented.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Open to learning in an ever-changing digital environment, and to be a collaborator and partner to the team.
  • Experience in all social media channels including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc.
