As we close out 2025, it’s worth reflecting on what truly defines Memjet: a commitment to engineering future-ready solutions long before the market demands them. This year, our team continued to strengthen the platforms that enable our OEM partners to build systems for emerging substrates, higher-speed applications, and broader categories of print.
At Memjet, 2025 has been a year of steady, quiet progress. It has been the kind of progress that strengthens every layer of our business and broadens our future potential. Behind the scenes, our team has delivered measurable gains in reliability, manufacturing precision, consistency, and product performance. We have expanded our printhead production capability, strengthened our quality control frameworks, refined processes, delivered innovative printhead control enhancements, improved ink formulations, and built an inventory of key inkjet modules to support efficient supply chains.
DuraCore Gains Market Momentum
Across the market, OEM engagement has remained positive, with early signals pointing to increased demand for compact, high-performance digital systems, particularly for our latest-generation print engine, DuraCore. Early adopters are receiving excellent customer feedback, with strong testimony to its combination of durability, compact architecture, and high-quality output.
Engineered for robust performance across demanding environments, DuraCore is emerging as a powerful foundation for a wide range of print solutions. As interest grows across both established and emerging applications, it is reinforcing Memjet’s reputation for technology that delivers consistent, professional-grade results with minimal integration effort.
Within DuraCore’s compact form is an extraordinary amount of precision engineering. The technology integrates advanced microfluidics, optimized thermal management, and refined microelectronics into a streamlined design that eliminates unnecessary complexity. The result is industrial-grade performance without the size, cost, or integration burden that often limits innovation. For OEMs, its small footprint means more flexible system layouts, faster development cycles, and easier scalability across multiple product lines. Essentially, DuraCore is opening the door to markets once out of reach for high-end inkjet.
Printhead Enhancements Deliver Finer Control
Another important achievement this year is the delivery of a new printhead control system that provides finer control over nozzle performance and allows for more flexible print modes across a wider range of applications. This advancement strengthens speed–resolution agility while maintaining the simplicity and reliability that define Memjet technology. It gives OEMs greater capability with minimal added complexity.
This newly engineered control system is now at the core of our Thunderbolt printheads. It manages nozzle firing with algorithms that offer greater finesse and flexibility, while also enhancing thermal regulation, reducing artefacts, and streamlining declogging routines. The result is an expanded range of professional-grade print modes, improved speed–resolution flexibility, and faster adaptation to market needs without additional engineering burden.
Total Cost of Ownership
In recent years, a series of ink refinements and improvements in wafer manufacturing processes have strengthened the underlying durability of our printheads. These cumulative enhancements now allow us to model heater life using 6 billion ink ejections rather than the previous 4 billion, providing a more accurate representation of the printhead’s inherent capability.
This model of extended printhead life assumes printed files and usage conditions remain consistent. Real-world operating patterns will always play a significant role in determining actual printhead longevity. What this updated heater-life modelling means is that, under comparable print conditions, printheads can now be expected to operate for a substantially longer period before reaching their ejection limit.
Access to this extended printhead life will become available as corresponding firmware limits are aligned with the updated life calculations. By extending printhead longevity, we aim to unlock an even more attractive total cost of ownership, reinforcing the advantageous economics Memjet is renowned for.
At the same time, we continue to address the total cost of ownership more broadly. Ink remains a key contributor to operating cost, and in today’s high-tariff environment, we are examining every element of the ink value chain — from production and filling locations to shipping methods — to deliver lower-cost options for OEMs and end users.
These improvements form the groundwork for what comes next. As we enter 2026, we are well positioned to translate this progress into visible market momentum. Our technology roadmap is market aligned, our platforms are robust, and our confidence in the year ahead is strong. We will continue sharpening this forward-looking approach, with several foundational engineering initiatives well underway. Each enhancement aims to give our partners more flexibility, more speed, and more capability in increasingly demanding markets.
Our modular design philosophy remains central to this strategy. It gives partners the freedom to innovate quickly, build systems that fit evolving customer needs, and expand into new use cases without reinventing the core platform. Over the past year, this approach has supported faster development cycles, more compact engines, and stronger price–performance efficiency.
