Colordyne 3600 Series AQ Technology.

Since 2011, the strong partnership between Colordyne Technologies and Memjet has resulted in the development of innovative printing solutions engineered to meet the specific needs of label converters, brand owners, and private label manufacturers.

These solutions use Memjet’s VersaPass printing technology to provide a wide range of functionality, from the powerful 1600 Series envelope and label printers to productive mini-press labeling solutions to pioneering hybrid printing technology. The scalable nature of these solutions can meet the evolving demands of the label market.

Today, Colordyne is once again at the forefront of innovation, becoming Memjet’s first OEM partner to integrate DuraLink, Memjet’s new print technology to power their second-generation 3600 Series AQ engines. Colordyne’s new 3600 Series AQ engines is an affordable, flexible, water-based printing technology that enables the rapid development of customized printing solutions for Colordyne partners around the world.

“Given the rich history between our organizations and the strong technical knowledge Colordyne has about Memjet technology, it’s not surprising that Colordyne became one of our first DuraLink OEM partners,” said Eric Owen, general manager at Memjet. “This powerful combination enables Colordyne to develop low-cost, flexible solutions that open new markets and new possibilities.”

Leveraging the modular design and scalability of the DuraLink printhead technology, Colordyne will offer its second-generation 3600 Series AQ technology as a retrofit, a stand-alone solution, and an engine integration kit. The kit allows Colordyne to offer development support and resources to other manufacturers who wish to jump-start their integration of digital inkjet printing using Memjet’s DuraLink technology.

By incorporating DuraLink into its 3600 Series AQ technology, Colordyne is able to develop solutions with ten times longer printhead life, durable pigmented ink, print quality up to 1600 by 1585 dpi, and a range of versatile printhead modules. Together, these features enable the rapid and cost-effective development of next-generation solutions in commercial, packaging,  industrial printing markets, and beyond.

Colordyne is currently looking for additional sub-OEM partners and beta sites for the second-generation engines. The first installations are targeted for the second half of 2019.
