San Diego, California – Memjet today announces that All Sports Manufacturing has purchased the Xante Excelagraphix 4200 press to manage the in-house production of their corrugated packaging. Using the Xante Excelagraphix 4200 enables All Sports Manufacturing to produce customized corrugated packaging in-house, giving them better control of their costs, production and brand.
The Xante Excelagraphix 4200 is a Memjet powered ink-jet packaging solution that enables All Sports Manuufacturing to produce short run, customized, digital packaging with a low capital expense. The printer also provides the manufacturer with a new, easier way to control their brand and costs by bringing packaging production capabilities in-house.
Kevin Shimamoto, General Manager, Wide Format Technology at Memjet says, “We are starting to see more manufacturers like All Sports Manufacturing manage their own package printing – and for good reason. Printing their own packages gives manufacturers greater control of when and how the packages get produced. And having that level of control means more efficient production and greater savings for the manufacturers. We’re proud to be part of the Xante solution, and to support All Sports Manufacturing with their package production.”
Moving From Labels to Package Printing
Based in Pensacola, Florida, All Sports Manufacturing is a company that is leading the development and design of custom golf cart lift kits and accessories. The company operates a 48,000 square foot, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility.
All Sports Manufacturing produces hundreds of SKUs for the golf cart accessories and parts they manufacture. Producing the labels needed to support this extensive line of products and co-branding requirements was an expensive and time-consuming process. Printing and applying these labels was done manually, so it was prone to error. The labels themselves were expensive to order, with shipping and storage costs adding to that expense.
To save time and money in their production process, All Sports Manufacturing purchased the Xante Excelagraphix 4200. Powered by Memjet’s Waterfall Printhead Technology, this wide format, ink-jet printer gives manufacturers like All Sports Manufacturing a proven, fast, easy, and cost effective solution for producing and customizing their own corrugated packaging.
Says Judy Wagner, Chief Marketing Officer at All Sports Manufacturing, “We chose the Xante Excelagraphix 4200 because it could easily fit into our operations. The printer was delivered in the morning, and by the end of the day, we were printing our own boxes. The integration into our business was seamless.”
Improvements To The Operation
The Xante Excelagraphix 4200 enabled All Sports Manufacturing to do away with labels entirely. Now, all required information is printed directly on the boxes, including product pictures, all SKU information, branding requirements, bar codes, and even customer installation instructions.
Printing this information directly on the package has resulted in a savings of up to 75% on production costs, and has greatly improved operations by minimizing waste and storage.
Judy Wagner concludes, “Using the Xante Excelagraphix 4200 means we can print one, 30, or even 800 boxes when we need them. The imprint on the boxes can be changed or co-branded on demand with little to no waste. We’re also pleased with the professional look of the boxes – some of our distributors even display them in their showrooms.”
Mark Swanzy, COO of Xante commented, “All Sports Manufacturing is a prime example of how easy and affordable it is for manufactures to bring all or a portion of their corrugated package printing in-house. The Excelagraphix 4200 provides manufactures and fullfillment centers the same professional, four-color branded look with variable data capabilities for their small volume SKU’s and their customers’ requests for personalization and customization.”
