Ontario, Canada – RTI Digital, Ltd., part of the Reprographic Technology group of companies and a leading industry supplier to digital production printers, and a variety of wide and narrow format printers, today launched the XL Stacker to automate the handling of output media for its Vortex 4200. This addition aligns with the industrial capabilities of the Vortex printer range by further enabling fast, high-volume printing.
The XL Stacker can handle up to 120Kg of documents, on a 10K pallet. It seamlessly square-stacks the prints and readies them to be lifted from the stacker by a high lift electric pallet truck. By automating the handling of output media, the XL stacker bolsters the value of the Vortex 4200 for high-volume printing for applications such as point-of-sale, indoor posters, and engineering drawings and maps.
“The XL Stacker is a natural extension to the Vortex portfolio, as it’s perfectly matched to the industrial capabilities for which customers have come to rely on Vortex printers,” said Erik Norman, President of RTI Digital. “We’re excited to demo the Vortex 4200 with the XL Stacker at FESPA so they can view the blazing fast speeds and incredible quality live on the show floor.”
The 42 inch wide full color printer is based on Memjet’s unique Waterfall Print Technology®, which provides revolutionary high print speed and superior quality. Compared to traditional wide format printers, the Vortex 4200 delivers incredibly fast job turnaround times and an attractive total cost of ownership. The Vortex prints at up to 12 inches (30 cm) per second (IPS) allowing Print Shops and in-plant customers to output up to over 9000 sq/ft (836 sqm) per hour of full color graphic arts for signage, POP, GIS and other wide format technical applications.
“At the heart of Memjet’s core value proposition is mastery of single pass technology. We’ve perfected the incredibly complex process of designing complete solution-based systems that incorporate software, media and finishing customized for different market segments and applications,” said Kevin Shimamoto, General Manager of Wide Format at Memjet. “The promise of this technology is underscored as players like HP look to enter the market. Yet, with a decade of experience in this area, Memjet is the best suited to help OEMs, such as RTI Digital, seamlessly deliver single pass printing for Wide Format applications based on proven, reliable expertise.”
